Dhaka under water

Capital city Dhaka went under knee-deep water, in some places waist-high, after consecutive rainfall during the past week. Public life almost came to a halt; roads including the major ones turned into swamps making transports unavailable on the roads and commuting difficult for citizens.

It takes hours for the city’s drainage system to get rid of the water logged on the streets and although people have become accustomed to such vexations, the suffering is nonetheless unbearable. The city is bracing more heavy showers over the next few days. Taking necessary precautions would be a good idea.
