Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, is located by the Vltava River. Nicknamed ‘the City of a Hundred Spires’, it’s known for its Old Town Square, the heart of its historic core, with colourful baroque buildings, Gothic churches and the medieval astronomical clock, which gives an animated hourly show.

Founded during the Romanesque and flourishing during the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque eras, Prague has been a political, cultural, and economic centre of central Europe with waxing and waning fortunes during its history.
